白细胞介素27(IL-27)是IL-12家族中的一员，是一个由爱泼斯坦-巴尔二氏病毒(EBV)诱导基因3(EBI3，又名IL-27B)和IL-27p28(称为IL-30)这两个亚基组成的异二聚体蛋白。IL-27由抗原呈递细胞产生，在调节B和T淋巴细胞的活性中起重要作用。IL-27通过与IL-27R和gp130两个蛋白组成的特定细胞表面受体复合物相互作用来发挥它的作用效果。IL-27具有促炎和消炎特性。在感染应答中，IL-27诱导单核细胞和肥大细胞分泌促炎细胞因子，它诱导幼稚CD4+T细胞增殖及引起Th1细胞应答。IL-27同样促进NK细胞和CD8+T细胞发挥效应功能。作为消炎免疫调节剂，IL-27能够抑制Th1或者Th2应答，限制适应性免疫应答的强度和持续时间。最近的研究表明，IL-27具有良好的抗肿瘤活性，据报道，IL-27积极参与类风湿性关节炎的炎症诱导。
