胰岛是的内分泌部分,是许多大小不等和形状不定的细胞团,散布在胰的各处,可控制碳水化合物的代谢,如胰岛素分泌不足则患糖尿病。胰岛能分泌胰岛素与胰高血糖素等激素。人类的胰岛细胞按其染色和形态学特点,主要分为α细胞、β细胞、γ细胞及PP细胞。α细胞占胰岛细胞的20%,分泌胰高血糖素;β细胞占胰岛细胞的60-70%;分泌胰岛素;γ细胞占胰岛细胞的10%,分泌“生长抑素”;PP细胞数量很少,分泌胰多肽。
