髓过氧化物酶(MPO)是一种过氧化物酶，在人类中由位于17号染色体上的MPO基因编码。它是一种存在于中性粒细胞的嗜苯胺蓝颗粒中的溶酶体蛋白，在脱颗粒过程中释放到细胞外空间。MPO在中性粒细胞中表达最丰富，可产生具有抗菌活性的次卤酸。MPO有血红素色素，导致中性粒细胞中的分泌物呈现绿色，如脓。另外，MPO介导蛋白质亚硝基化、3-氯酪氨酸形成及二酪氨酸交联。MPO缺乏症是一种导致机体免疫缺陷的遗传性疾病。MPO水平的升高会大大加倍增加心血管死亡的风险。也有人认为，MPO在动脉粥样硬化病变发展中、致使斑块不稳定中起着重要作用。
